Greg Gerard Guidry

Born in 1960 in Jefferson, LA, Greg Guidry earned in 1985 his Juris Doctor from Louisiana State University's Paul M. Hebert Law Center. In 2010 he received a Master of Judicial Studies from the National Judicial College at the University of Nevada. During his legal career Greg Guidry has worked in commercial litigation law and as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Louisiana where he focused on pubic corruption and commercial fraud. Greg Guidry served from 2000-2006 as a district court judge for the 24th Judicial District for Jefferson Parish and from 2006-2008 as circuit court judge with the Louisiana 5th Circuit Court of Appeal. In November 2018 Judge Guidry was elected to the Louisiana Supreme Court as an Associate Justice. He began his term in January 2009 and continued to serve the people of Louisiana as an Associate Justice until 2019. During his legal career Judge Guidry has assisted the U. S. Virgin Islands, the Republic of South Africa and Malawi as an instructor and advisor in legal affairs. In 2019 the President nominated and the U. S. Senate confirmed Justice Greg Guidry to a seat on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. Throughout his college and legal career Judge Guidry has received many honors and awards and has served on numerous civic and professional organizations.
