Michelle Andree Guidry, U.S. Navy Captain Retired, from Lafayette, LA earned her B.S. degree in Aerospace Engineering at Auburn University and her commission as an Ensign in the U. S. Navy assigned to the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command. In 1991 Michelle entered the Navy flight program earning her Navy 'Wings of Gold' in 1993. During training she flew 25 different support aircraft. With the repeal of the combat exclusion for females in 1993, she garnered a seat on the S-3 Viking antisubmarine jet based on the USS Carl Vinson carrier and deployed to Persian Gulf in 1996. In 1997 Michelle attended the U. S. Naval Test Pilot School and became an Engineering Test Pilot. In 2001 she was selected as the NFATS Test Pilot of the Year. After several assignments of increasing responsibility, she volunteered for billet to Baghdad, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. In July 2009 Michelle Guidry was promoted to the rank of U. S. Navy Captain and in 2010 assigned to command PMA-207 - the Navy's cradle to grave program for procuring, support and disposal of tactical aircraft. Retiring from the Navy in 2014, Captain Guidry accumulated more than 1600 flying hours in 31 types of aircraft and made over 150 carrier landings. Her awards include the Meritorious Service Medal with 2 Gold Stars, the Iraq Campaign Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Medal. Captain Michelle Guidry brings great distinction to the Guédry family through her exceptional U. S. military service.
