Roland J. Guidry for his exemplary service as the Louisiana Oil Spill Coordinator (LOSC) for over twenty years - serving under four governors. As LOSC, Roland was a nationally-recognized innovator in testing new research in real spill situations and in developing regional restoration plans to expedite natural resource recovery. During his long career Roland directed spill responses in many situations from small, localized releases, oil spills from tankers and barges on the Mississippi River and its channels to mega-releases during Hurricane Katrina and from the Deepwater Horizon (BP) disaster of 2010 in which he was Louisiana's lead response representative. Because of his extensive experience, innovative excellence and in-depth knowledge of spill prevention and response, Roland is sought worldwide as a speaker at seminars and training sessions.
