In 1991 she won the Honda Award as the National Track & Field Athlete of the Year and was a recipient of the Babe Zaharias Award as the nation's top female athlete. In 1992 Barcelona Olympics representing the USA she won an Olympic Gold Medal in the 4x100-meter relay. In the 1996 Atlanta Olympics she won her second Olympic Gold Medal in the 4x100-meter relay with the USA Olympic Team.
